The Large Contemporary Crab Bronze Sculpture stands 120cm tall and spreads its serrated claws wide in a commanding, low-slung stance. Every segmented leg, articulated joint, and raised eye-socket detail is rendered with sculptural precision, creating a piece that reads as both naturalistic and boldly stylised.
This large bronze crab sculpture is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which captures the fine angular geometry of each carapace segment and the sharp, pointed leg tips with exceptional fidelity. The surface carries a dark near-black patina that deepens the sense of mass, while subtle bronze highlights on the raised surfaces catch the light and define the form. The finish ranges from matte to semi-matte, giving the piece a restrained, gallery-grade presence rather than a decorative shine.
At 120cm in height and 350kg, this is a statement-scale work suited to large interior volumes and open exterior settings alike. Indoors, it commands atrium spaces, double-height hallways, and contemporary reception areas; the dark patina works particularly well against pale stone, concrete, and raw plaster. Outdoors, the bronze weathers gracefully on terraces, lawns, courtyards, and formal garden schemes. The sculpture rests directly on its leg-tip points, requiring a firm, level surface.
Patina options include the signature dark near-black shown, a warm mid-brown, a verdigris green, or a polished natural bronze. The sculpture can also be commissioned at a different scale to suit a specific site. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements. Explore our full range of Bronze Abstract Sculptures, browse the wider Bronze Animal Sculptures collection, or view all works in our Bronze Sculptures gallery.
