The Contemporary Boar Head Bronze Sculpture stands 45cm tall and commands immediate attention: a monumental animal head rendered at oversized scale, mouth open to reveal precisely detailed teeth and tongue, floppy ears swept back, and a broad, dominant snout facing forward. Beneath it, a twisted elongated bronze column supports the composition with a sense of organic tension.
Every surface of this piece is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, capturing the full resolution of the sculptor's original model. The hand-finished cast bronze carries a warm mid-brown patina, with subtly darker tonal variation settling into recessed areas around the snout, ear folds, and twisted column. The result is a surface that reads as both raw and considered, with the characteristic depth that only solid bronze sculpture can deliver. At 25kg, the piece has genuine physical presence.
This sculpture suits gallery-style interiors, large entrance halls, commercial hospitality spaces, and substantial outdoor settings alike. The warm bronze tone pairs well with dark timber, polished concrete, aged stone, and neutral rendered walls. Its contemporary treatment of a traditional Chinese Zodiac subject makes it equally at home in a modern residential interior as in a cultural or commercial public space.
Patina options include classic warm brown, verde green, dark oxidised black, and cold-cast gold highlighting. The scale of the head and column can be increased to suit monumental architectural settings. We can also adjust the column form or base configuration for specific installation requirements. If you have a commission inspired by the work of Chinese Zodiac sculptural traditions or wish to discuss a bespoke variant, contact us before ordering.
