The Classical Reclining Mermaid Bronze Table Sculpture stands 80cm in height and presents a singular union of figurative sculpture and functional furniture. A mermaid reclines low, her upper body leaning forward with long flowing hair fanning across the base, while her scaled tail curves dramatically upward in a sweeping arc, its fin and her raised hands together cradling a round glass tabletop.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this piece is finished entirely by hand, allowing each surface to carry genuine sculptural character. The warm antiqued brown patina deepens across the detailed fish-scale texture of the tail and the integral wave and rock base, while the upper body carries a smoother, lighter bronze tone that draws the eye naturally upward. The glass tabletop features a shaped irregular oval edge, bevelled and precisely fitted to rest between the arched tail fin and the mermaid's raised hands.
Weighing 80kg, this piece has presence and permanence. The sculpted wave base is oval in form and blends seamlessly into the figure itself, requiring no additional plinth. Its warm bronze tones pair well with dark hardwoods, marble flooring, neutral linens, and lacquered or painted interiors. Suited to a drawing room, entrance hall, study, or hotel lobby, it functions as both a statement side table and a work of classical figurative sculpture art furniture.
We offer full customisation on patina finish, from pale natural bronze through mid-tone brown and deep antiqued black, as well as adjustments to scale for larger commissions. The glass top specification can also be discussed. If you wish to adapt this piece, contact us before ordering and we will prepare a tailored proposal.
