The material at the top of the circle is carrying everything above the two feet, so the section is drawn heavier as it comes down toward them and lighter across the crown, which is the opposite of what the eye expects and is invisible once it is standing. The gold reads differently at this size too. There is more of it exposed at each break, so it comes out duller and more bronze, and it is worked coarser to suit that.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 60cm it wants a console, a long sideboard or a deep shelf with the run to itself, and it is slim enough to sit closer to a wall than its width suggests. What it needs is something bright beyond the gap: a window, a lamp set behind, or a pale wall at a little distance. The yellow is strong enough to throw colour onto whatever it stands on, which is worth having on a pale surface and lost on a dark one.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe Span, the Tint, and Getting It Home\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eDelivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. The gap is drawn wider or nearly closed, the yellow is lightened toward honey or deepened toward amber, and the ink is run heavier. The span can be drawn wider still at order, for a wall of its own. A colourless body with the same gold is also offered and is the quieter of the two. It goes out flat in a single case, the opening braced from inside and the marble boxed on its own, and it takes two to lift.
