The cross and slab are cut as one so there is no joint at the crossing. The finish reads mottled light and dark rather than even.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA memorial of this height belongs on a full plot, and the finish decides where it sits best: it settles into an older burial ground among stones that have already weathered, and looks wrong against new polished granite. A churchyard, a cemetery avenue or a family enclosure suits it.
