It sags to a wide belly, then lifts at both ends into inward-hooked horns. Down the inside of one horn runs a streak of vivid lime green, and the other horn darkens to a deep teal that is almost black right at its top. The inner faces clear to a pale aqua, so each curve can be read through the next.

A Lime Streak Through a Turquoise Sweep

Turquoise tint fills the resin rather than coating it, and it changes across the form: dense and jewel-like along the outer sweep, clearer and paler over the inner faces. The lime streak is the brightest note in the piece, a ribbon of yellow-green running from the top of its horn down towards the belly that flares up whenever sun or lamplight reaches it. Opposite, the dark teal tip gives the eye a fixed point to come back to. Each surface takes a high gloss that picks out every swirl.

It is at home on a writing desk or a bedside table, and best of all near a window, where the turquoise brightens and the lime streak glows. A white wall or a pale stone top keeps the colour clean, while a dark surface pulls it towards teal. Turn the lime horn towards the light and the streak reads at its strongest. It sits steady on its own belly without any stand.

The Turquoise Cradle, Options and Shipping

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The order is for this one turquoise cradle alone. On commission the lime streak can be broadened, moved to the other horn or replaced with another accent colour, the turquoise made paler or deeper, and the cradle produced in another size with every part scaled to match. Padding is packed beneath the belly in its carton, the horns are held clear of the sides, and both hands go under the body to lift it out. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A turquoise cradle with a lime streak running down one horn rounds out our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Specification

Height

29cm

Width

36cm

Depth

30cm

Material

Cast Turquoise Resin
