The cut edges of the sheet are left dark, so every corner reads as a fine drawn line and the plinth looks precise from any angle. The frosting keeps reflections down, so the column does not mirror the room, and the flat top is closed and level. Nothing on it is decorated, which is the point.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 71cm it lifts a piece to the height of someone seated or standing close by, in a living room, an office, a gallery or a showroom. It works against a white or a warm wall, where the teal reads clearly. Light from above falls onto whatever it carries, and the teal faces glow softly beneath. It can be made in another frosted colour, grey, blue, amber or white, and in other proportions, and several can be made to match at different heights. A deeper colour makes it read as a solid block and not a glowing one. To move it, slide flat hands under its foot on two opposite sides, keep it upright, and set it down square where it is to stand.
