teal-and-clear-towering-splash-resin-sculpture-240cm
Teal & Clear Towering Splash Resin Sculpture - 240cm

Description

This teal resin splash rises from a crown of spray at its foot, which opens outward in short fingers, and from it several jets of water climb and curl, bending in different directions, the tallest reaching far above the rest and ending in a clear, broken tip. The teal is deep and glassy at the foot and clears towards the tops of the jets.

Jets of Teal Climbing Out of a Splash

The piece is built on a crowd of rising jets rather than a single column, and their different heights and curves make the splash feel alive. Each jet is drawn as a smooth, twisting stream that thins towards its tip, and they are set leaning and curling away from one another, so the silhouette is open and complex. The tallest jet carries the height; the others fill out the form below it. Teal gathers where the water is densest and clears where it thins.

At 240cm it needs a big volume, an atrium, a gallery or a double-height hall, where it can be seen from across the space and circled. Daylight through the teal makes it glow like shallow sea; a dark background sharpens the clear tips. It stands on its own crown of spray and needs clear floor around it.

Teal, Jets and Installation

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The teal can be deepened, turned to blue, green or amber, or the splash left clear, and the tallest jet can be made more dominant or brought into line with the others. An amber splash reads like fire rising; teal keeps it as water, and clear resin makes it read as pure light. It is crated upright with each jet braced, and it is raised into place by its foot, never by a jet. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Several teal jets climbing and curling out of one crown of spray take this splash into our organic sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Specification

Height

240cm

Width

171.3cm

Depth

123.5cm

Material

Teal-Tinted Cast Resin
