They are roughed out as one mass and separated into stems only once the arms and the drapery around them are finished and stable. The cloud base under her feet is worked soft and rolling so it reads as vapour against the hard mouldings of the pedestal below. The stone is a cream marble with paler white passages where the antiquing has taken less.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAn angel of this height reads as a family monument and wants a full plot: a cemetery avenue, an established churchyard, a private enclosure or a formal memorial garden. It carries well at a distance, so it can close the end of a walk.
