Three reversals in one length is as many as a ribbon can take before it stops reading as a single movement, and this one is drawn right at that limit. Gathering the colour at the edges of a translucent body means the material draws its own outline, and the curve is legible from angles at which the mass itself is not. Polished over every face, and the edges are finished to the same grade so the darker line is colour and not shadow.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGive it a run of floor at the end of a room, or a console wide enough to take the reach. A plain wall behind it, dark for preference, so the smoky body carries and its darker edges read against it. Light from one side follows the edges the whole way up and turns the line into a highlight. The reach can be brought in, the darker edge can be made stronger or softer, and the stone is cut to any plan you need. Strengthen the edge colour and the outline hardens, which reads as a heavier object at exactly the same weight.
