Faint lighter bands run across the back, and the blue deepens a shade along the edges and the lip, where the resin is thickest. Beneath the shell, a chrome gas-lift column stands on a broad disc and carries a tubular footrest.

One Clear Sky Blue From Crest to Lip

A single light tint gives the shell an easy, airy quality. The blue is clear enough to see the room through, only lightly coloured, so the stool takes on the mood of its surroundings: brighter beside a window, softer in shade. The faint bands across the back come and go as you move, and the deeper blue at the edges outlines the shell like a pencil drawing. Below, the mirror chrome of the column repeats the gloss of the resin, so the whole stool looks crisp and fresh rather than heavy.

At 100cm the seat comes level with a breakfast bar or an island top, and the sky blue sits naturally with white, pale grey, light oak and natural linen. It is gentle enough for a family kitchen and fresh enough for a beach house, and several together keep a long counter light and open. Indoor use only.

Paler or Stronger Blue, Stem Finish and Packing

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The blue can be made paler, nearer to ice, or richer, nearer to cornflower, and a grade that clears at the crest is possible if a softer top is wanted. Chrome is standard for every metal part; matt black and brushed stainless are the alternatives, and the footrest may be dropped. The gas lift is chosen for counter or bar use. It is crated singly, fully built, and one person can bring it indoors. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Pale sky blue throughout, this stool is shown alongside our resin sculptures, near the chrome of our metal sculptures, and with the seating in our art furniture.

Specification

Height

100cm

Width

38cm

Depth

50cm

Material

Cast Resin with Polished Chrome Base
