Sky blue fills the lower half and deepens at the feet, and above it the resin is clear but heavily clouded with black ink, laid in dark, smoky patches that drift down the ribs towards the blue. The blocks round the outer edge are left almost clear, a pale, broken border. It stands on a long bar, which is supplied with it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eBlack Ink Clouding a Sky Blue Arch\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eHere the ink does as much work as the colour. Black is run through the clear upper half in dense, smoky clouds that settle into the grooves of the fluting and gather beneath the crown, so the top of the arch looks like weather building over water. Beneath the clouds the sky blue takes over, brightening through the body and strengthening at the feet. The squared blocks round the edge stay nearly colourless, a pale border around the dark clouds, and each rib carries a thin line of highlight down its ridge, which keeps the fluting legible through the ink.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGive it a console or a long sideboard with a plain wall behind, where the ink clouds and the blue both read clearly across a room. Face it square to the room: the round gap then frames whatever lies beyond it, while from the end the arch narrows to a thin curve. Daylight from behind brightens the clear crown and the blue, and the black ink stays dark against both. The bar needs a flat, even surface under its full length.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eInk, the Blue Grade and Delivery\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eOurs is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. The price covers the arch together with its bar. On commission the ink can be laid more lightly for a cleaner crown or carried down into the blue, the sky blue deepened towards cobalt, and the edge blocks made chunkier or more delicate. The arch can be cast at other widths, its bar cut to match. It travels in one crate with the bar wrapped on its own, and the arch is lifted by its feet rather than by the crown.
