The hands are worked last because they sit at the centre of the composition where any chisel mark shows. The marble is a bright white with grey veining running down through the plinth and base.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA quiet seated figure suits a single or double plot, a lawn section that permits an upright, a memorial garden or a cremation plot. Because the piece is closed and calm it reads well against planting, where a spread figure would be lost.
