orange-and-clear-shouldered-summit-resin-sculpture-59cm
Orange & Clear Shouldered Summit Resin Sculpture - 59cm

Description

Resin graded from deep orange-red at the base, through yellow, to a clear summit. The summit is set to the left with a rounded spur close in on its right, and polished channels run the full height of the face. It goes straight onto its surface, with no base of any kind supplied.

Fire at the Base, Clear at the Summit

The colour is heaviest at the base and fades upward, so the peak looks lit from below, like a mountain at sunset or a flame that has cooled at its tip. Yellow sits between the orange-red and the clear summit, which keeps the change gradual rather than banded. The channels hold more colour in their depths than on their ridges, so every one reads as a darker line of fire, and the clear summit stays bright against whatever is behind it, like snow above a burning hillside.

Standing 59cm, it is right for a console or a dresser at standing height, where a window or a lamp can shine through the colour. It glows most strongly with light behind it, so a spot before a window or beside a lamp shows it best, and a pale wall keeps the clear summit visible from across the room.

The Strength of the Colour, and Shipping

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The colour can be carried further up the peak or held near the base, the orange can be swapped for a red, an amber or a blue, and the summit can be mirrored to stand at the right. A touch of gold leaf in the clear summit catches the light above the colour. Shipping is upright in a foam-fitted crate with the summit protected, and it takes two people to bring out. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A peak burning orange at its base belongs with our organic sculptures; colour graded through the pour sets it among our resin sculptures, and a clear summit lit from behind suits our indoor sculptures.

Specification

Height

59cm

Width

58cm

Depth

17cm

Material

Graded Orange and Clear Cast Resin
