The film turns that precision into colour: each face changes with the angle it is seen from, and because the faces are narrow, one step to the side moves the whole column from blue towards magenta. Its narrow footprint lets it stand where a broad plinth would block the way. On commission the column can be drawn at another height or on a broader square, the film chosen in a warmer or a cooler range, or the sheet left plain and clear. Two or three columns at stepped heights make a set for a run of small objects, each one ordered separately. Lift it upright with both hands low on two opposite faces, keep it vertical while it is moved, and never take it by the edges of the top.
