indigo-molten-seat-cast-resin-bar-stool-78cm
Indigo Molten Seat Cast Resin Bar Stool - 78cm

Description

Indigo blue fills the shell of this bar stool, a single cast piece that forms the seat, a back with a broad opening through it, and a long loop that drops from the seat and encircles the column. The column and the round foot beneath are plain white, so the coloured shell seems to rest on a pale stem.

An Indigo Shell Looped Around a White Stem

The shell's surface is left running and pooled rather than smoothed, so it holds the light in shifting patches, deep violet where the resin gathers and a clearer blue where it thins. The opening through the back makes a natural handle and lets the room show through the seat. The loop beneath carries the same colour down to encircle the column, ending above the foot, and against the opaque white stem the indigo reads darker still. Seen from the side, the loop and the seat make one continuous line.

At 78cm it suits a kitchen counter or a home bar, and the disc foot keeps its footprint small. A row of two or three reads well along a white wall, and a light floor shows the colour of the loop. Warm lighting draws out the violet in it, while cool daylight favours the blue. Indoor use only.

The Stem, the Back and the Depth of Colour

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The column can be white, brushed steel or black, with or without a gas lift. The opening in the back can stay open or be filled for a solid panel, and the indigo can be lightened towards cobalt or taken nearly to navy. Seat height is set to suit your counter, and stools bought together are matched in colour. Two people are needed to carry it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Indigo blue poured into a bar stool joins our resin sculptures; the seat belongs with our art furniture, and the loop beneath it with our organic sculptures.

Specification

Height

78cm

Width

50cm

Depth

45cm

Material

Tinted Cast Resin
