A broad wing of resin curls up from one side of the basin and over the top as a ribbon cut with oval windows; above it a stalk rises into an antler-like crest with small side shoots and a curved bough that drops back to the ribbon. Opposite, a short jet leans out past the rim of the drum and lifts three blunt fingertips.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eAn Even Ice Blue From Basin to Crest\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe tint is light and even, so the colour never pools into a dark patch and the form is read by its outline rather than by shade. Where the resin is fullest, around the basin and along the ribbon, the blue looks a little stronger; on the slim shoots of the crest it is barely there, a cool cast like frost on a window. Against the black stone the basin shows its blue most clearly, and the windows in the ribbon frame the wall behind in pale blue. The whole surface carries a glassy polish.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSet on the floor of an entrance hall or a generous sitting room, it reaches 144cm with its base, so the crest is met at about shoulder height and the pale blue reads against the space around it. A white, grey or stone-coloured wall keeps the blue soft and cool, and dark timber behind it makes the colour look brighter. Leave room all round it, since the jet carries out over the marble. The price is for one splash with its round marble base, sold individually. To order, the ice blue can be mixed a shade deeper or paler, or kept to the basin with the crest left clear, and the crest can take more side shoots or be left sparer. It travels in a braced crate with the drum packed apart, and once the drum is level the splash is set down on it, held by the basin.
