It is left sharp rather than eased for exactly that reason, since an eased edge would blend the two into one face. Leaving one face polished and working the other into a cliff means the same material is read twice over: once as a transparent solid and once as a broken surface. One face polished flat and the other worked rough, with the arris between them left sharp.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA console or a cabinet top suits it, set so the worked face is toward the room and the polished one toward the wall. A pale ground behind it, because the polished face returns whatever is there. Light from behind passes through the polished face and stops in the worked one, which is the whole of what this design does. The outline reads as a peak from any distance, and which face you get depends on where you stand.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eWorking the Whole Body, and a Sharp Arris\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. We will carry the working round the whole body, exchange the green, or cut the peak at another height. Carry the working round and the transparency goes with it, since the polished face is the only thing letting light through. One crate, standing, and nothing whatever to do on site. Two people. The arris between the two faces is sharp and it is where a hand naturally goes.
