The green is in the material rather than on it and deepens with the thickness, which is why the cone foot reads almost bottle and the top face reads clear. Every face is polished, the underside of the top included, because a clear column throws the light straight back up through it. The rolled edge of the top is worked to a constant section the whole way round, which is the reference the rest of the piece is brought true against.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 60cm it serves an armchair or a window bay as a side table, and the wide cone foot means it will not tip when something is set down off centre. Put it where light can come through it: against a pale wall the green reads as a lit block, and against a dark one it closes to almost black.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe Green, the Waist, and Ordering a Pair\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eOrder a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. Most of it is the waisted column. Three things can change. The green is offered lighter or in another hue, the waist can be pulled in further, and the top is made square instead of round. Top diameter and column height are both quoted on request. Once the order is placed as one, the depth of the green at the cone foot is carried through it. It is crated round the rolled top edge and the cone foot and needs two people to walk it into place.
