Each leg is irregular and each takes its own line down, so from any angle you see through the base rather than at it, and part way up a shelf-like projection spans between them and gives the cluster a horizontal to sit against. Colourless and polished all over, the legs read as bright vertical lines against whatever is behind them, and the count of those lines changes as you move round it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 50cm it sits beside a chair or a bed, and it rewards a spot with space all round, since the number of legs you see changes as you move and from straight ahead some hide behind others. A plain floor is wanted. The shelf part way up will take a small object, though anything on it is visible through the top. The leg count is the first decision, from this cluster through to three legs, which opens the base considerably, or a single central column. The shelf is second: spanning part way up as here, or left out. And the dome above, shallow as here or deeper. You give the diameter and the height. Two made side by side will share the spread of the legs. Two made months apart will not. The rolled rim and the leg cluster must be padded first, and then it is a one-person job to walk it in.
