Between them two short fingers lean towards the curving arm, and a small curled spur hooks up at the far end of the foot.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eTwo Arms Rising From Either End of One Foot\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eWithout a tint, the casting is read entirely through its own surface. The foot is rippled like water caught at the moment it strikes a hard floor, and every ripple throws a small highlight, so the low band glitters along its whole length. The arms are smooth by comparison, their glassy faces bending the view of whatever stands behind them, and the rounded tips at the top of each catch the brightest light in the room. The open space between the two arms counts in the shape as much as the resin does, framing the wall behind like a window.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eStanding 60cm, it suits a hall console, a dining-room sideboard or a broad study desk, where the gap between the arms can be read against a plain wall. It gives its best against a dark ground: deep paint or panelling behind it lets every edge show, while a pale wall makes it quieter. Lamplight from the side catches every ripple along the foot.
