Holding a clear disc of this diameter flat through the cure is the difficult part of the build, because any dish or twist shows at once against a straight edge. Each of the three legs is made on its own and seated in a rippled collar under the disc, and the three are matched against one another until the top sits dead level.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eStanding at counter height, this round table belongs at a kitchen island, in a bar, a showroom or a breakfast room, where people stand or perch on high stools, and its three legs leave plenty of space under the rim for their knees. The ripple reads from above, so it belongs under a pendant or a rooflight where someone standing can look down on it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe Ripple, the Three Legs, and Counter Height\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eGive it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. Most of it is the ripple work. There are three open questions. The rings of the ripple can be made bolder or softened until the top is nearly flat, a tint can be added, and a fourth leg can be fitted beneath the disc. The top diameter and the leg height are open figures. Any group ordered in one go is matched on the spread of the ripple from the centre. The ringed collars and the three leg ends are wrapped first of all when it is crated, and it takes four people to lift.
