Each one is set to a different depth from its neighbour, which is why the body reads as gathered rather than fluted. The top is worked in the upper mould face and left level while the folds beneath it are not, so one piece carries a flat surface and a moving one. Every fold is polished inside as well as out, by hand where a fold turns back on itself, and the fold ends that reach the floor are ground to one plane last of all.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt suits a seating group of ordinary size, with open floor around it instead of a wall behind. Light from one side is what gives the folds their depth, and without it the body flattens. The standing fold is what fills the time. Look at three decisions before ordering. The diameter can be made to order, and the body can be tinted rather than left clear. The plan diameter and the ripple depth are named by you. Ask for several together if the run of the ripples needs to agree between them. The standing folds and the top ripple are padded before the lid goes on, and the crate is built so the piece bears on its own fold ends and not on a face.
