Every member is worked to its finished profile and then polished on all faces, including the inner faces of the stretchers where two people out of three would never look. In clear acrylic a joint shows as a thin grey line from across a room, so the structure is worked as far as possible from single lengths.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 110cm to the top of the crest rail this is a statement chair for a hall, a study, a lobby or the end of a long room, and it will run in to a table like any other armchair. Clear acrylic takes its presence from what is behind it, so a dark wall or a strong rug does more for it than a pale corner. A pair either side of a doorway reads better than one on its own.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eThe Crest Rail, the Splat, and Ordering a Pair\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eOur workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. At order, three things are open. The crest rail can be run higher or opened wider at the arms, the splat can be left out for a plainer back, and the acrylic is offered tinted. Neither the seat height nor the crest height is fixed. Order more than one together and the sweep of the crest rail is matched across them. Crated with the crest rail ends and the four stretchers protected, it is a four-person lift.
