The leaf is held through the clear resin rather than laid over it: some flakes lie flat along the curve of the haunch, others turn edge-on, and the deepest read only as a warm glint behind the polished surface. It arrives boxed and padded, ready to set out, and it should be picked up by the base rather than by the head or the mane.
