Each amber leaf is fine enough for its veins to show as darker threads, the colour running from pale apricot to a deeper burnt orange. The discs are matt and close to black, with a faint plum tone only at the rim, while the gold on the right-hand stem breaks into tiny glinting flecks. Since the sprigs are natural material, the spread of leaves and discs differs from block to block.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGiven room on a sideboard or a console, or at one end of a broad desk, it lets the contrast of near-black against orange carry across a room. At 42cm it suits a credenza, leaving space alongside for a lamp. A pale wall behind keeps the outlines of the dark discs crisp, while warm lamplight brings up the amber in the leaves.
