The flakes are curled and twisted rather than flat, an olive-bronze with a low sheen and a fine lengthwise grain; one is rolled to a point high in the head, another trails thin strands near the foot. The outline and the flakes come out differently in every rock.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt 55cm it is in proportion on a credenza, a sideboard or a long console, and a broad desk in a study has room for it as well. Turn the pinched flank towards a window so the streaks catch the side light, and keep it against a plain wall in a mid or dark tone so the white reads strongly. Seen from a chair across the room, the two lobes of the head make a soft, cloud-like outline. A fitted crate protects it in transit; lift it from under the body, with a hand steadying the head.
