A few gold-toned flakes are caught in the clear resin, a small cluster low at one side and finer flakes scattered elsewhere, and the whole piece is glassy and bright.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eA Crown of Clear Crystal Points\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach point of the crown is shaped as a rounded column, and they rise at slightly different heights and angles, so the ring looks grown rather than made. The base is clustered and lumpy, like the matrix a crystal grows from, and the clear resin shows every facet and curve inside. The gold-toned flakes are sparse, gathered in one place near the base and scattered thinly elsewhere, which gives the eye points of warmth to find among the cool, clear forms, and they shift as the piece is walked round.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSet it low enough to be looked down into, on a sideboard, a cabinet or a deep shelf. It is low and can be seen from above, which is how its ring of points reads best. Light from above or from a window makes the crystal sparkle and the gold glint. On a dark wood or stone surface it looks like ice.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eGold, Tint and a Padded Crate\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eOrder a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. The gold-toned flakes can be left out for a crown of clear resin alone, and a pale blue, amber or smoke tint is possible: a pale blue crown reads like glacier ice, and a smoky one like a cluster of dark quartz. The crown can also be made with more points, or at another span with its ring of columns kept in proportion. Its padded crate holds it by the clustered base, and both hands go beneath that base to lift it, never round the points.
