The broad faces of the band stay clear, so the eye passes through them, while the rims of the band and of each loop carry the colour and draw the whole figure in a single teal line. At the foot the teal thickens and gives the piece its weight. The ripples that run the length of the band carry the colour in and out of the folds, so the edges flicker as the light changes.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOn a credenza or a long console at 97cm with its marble, it reads as a teal drawing against a pale wall, which is what it needs. It can stand close to the wall, as it is all front, but give the loops a light ground behind them.
