The crest flares back at the top, the body twists to a narrow waist, and the skirt kicks out at the foot. The gold flakes are suspended right through the resin, from crest to foot, so they glint at every depth as you move. Its base is a block of black marble, included in the price.

Gold Suspended in Clear Resin

Gold flakes held in clear resin catch the light at every depth, so the figure glitters through its thickness rather than only at its surface. The scatter of flakes differs on every piece. Against the clear body the gold reads warm and festive, and the black block beneath sets it off. Every face is polished bright, so the flakes are seen crisply through the resin, and the twist of the figure carries them round in a spiral of sparkle. It makes a fine gift for a celebration.

A console, a sideboard or a dresser suits it, in a hall, a dining room or a sitting room, wherever evening light can find it. It suits cream, white and warm grey rooms, and sits beautifully beside gilt frames, brass and candles. A lamp at one side makes the gold sparkle; daylight keeps it soft and warm.

More Gold, Other Leaf, and Delivery

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. The gold can be laid more thickly or sparingly, or exchanged for silver or copper flakes, and the resin can be given a pale tint. Pale stone can replace the black block to lighten the piece. The same figure is made in black and clear, sold separately. It is crated on its block; a single person places it, taking the block and never the narrow waist. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Clear resin glinting with suspended gold flakes sits among our resin sculptures; the narrow-waisted, windswept figure belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures, and more for an evening room is in our indoor sculptures.

Specification

Height

68cm

Width

26cm

Depth

11cm

Base

25 x 20 x 6cm

Material

Clear Cast Resin with Gold Flakes on Black Marble
