clear-and-brown-swirl-petal-resin-swivel-chair-80cm
Clear & Brown Swirl Petal Resin Swivel Chair - 80cm

Description

Most of this petal shell is clear, with the faintest rose blush in the resin, and its colour has sunk to the bottom. Rust-brown ink lies in a loose band low in the seat, feathering upward in fine strands, while a translucent cola brown edges the lip and fills both pointed arm tips. The back rises to a rounded crest. Beneath the shell, a chrome column on a gas lift, its lever to one side, rises from a polished disc foot.

Clear Resin With Rust-Brown Ink Settled in the Seat

The interest lies in where the colour has come to rest. The upper half of the shell is almost untouched, glassy and bright, so the back reads as clear resin with little more than a warm cast. Further down the brown begins, first as single threads, then as a denser drift that settles across the seat like sediment at the bottom of a jar, darkest where the shell curves under. The lip takes up the same warm brown in a smoother, translucent band, and each pointed tip ends in it. Every casting lays its sediment down a little differently, so no two seats match.

At 80cm to the crest, with its height set by the lever, it fits a desk or a dressing table and lets the seat meet either at a comfortable level. The clear upper half keeps it from crowding a compact room, while the brown in the seat ties it to timber floors and leather. Light from a window behind it lifts the rose blush in the back. Indoors only.

Where the Ink Settles, the Gas Lift and Delivery

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The brown can be ordered to climb further up the back or kept to the seat alone, and the rose blush can be cleared for a colder look. A fixed column is available in place of the gas lift, in chrome, black or brushed brass. Shell and base arrive in two crates and are joined with the fixings packed alongside them, and once joined the chair is easily moved by one person. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Clear seating with a band of rust-brown ink is part of our art furniture, the lever stem is matched in our metal sculptures, and the bloom-like shell in our organic sculptures.

Specification

Height

80cm

Width

61cm

Depth

62cm

Material

Cast Resin with Chrome Base
