Where the brown stops is decided before anything else about the figure is, because everything above it has to read on outline alone. A tinted streak inside an otherwise colourless body is what gives the drapery its direction: the brown follows the fold and nothing else on the figure does. Polished over the whole figure, with the open crown left thin at its edge.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGive it a hall console and let it be approached head on. A pale wall behind it, or the brown closes into the colourless body and the folds go with it. Light it from the front. From behind, the brown is the only thing that survives. Open the crown wider and the waist thickens to carry it, since what leans out has to be held from below. Upright in one crate, with the block stowed under the figure.
