Its faces are broad and glassy, crossed by fine cracks, and thin slivers of amber and russet are scattered through it, a few of them branching from one point on the right. The rock comes with its black marble base, and each one is sold individually.

Amber Slivers Through Stepped Clear Ledges

The ledges are formed as flat, angled planes, so the rock reads like a block of split quartz rather than a weathered stone, and each plane shows the slivers behind it with little distortion. The slivers themselves are thin and dark-tipped, russet at one end and amber along their whole length. The base is black marble with a quiet polish, and its weight and dark colour give the clear form a firm footing. The slivers sit in a pattern particular to each rock.

Its height and long stepped profile suit a sideboard, a console table or a reception desk, and it reads well from the side, where the ledges stack up like terraces. The black marble sits well with dark timber, stone and brass, and a lamp to one side throws the ledges into relief. Indoor use only.

Sliver Colour, Base Stone and Shipping

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. Metal leaf is offered instead of the amber slivers, and white or veined marble can replace the black, or timber can take the stone's place. The size can be specified to order, and a bespoke stepped form can be modelled from your brief. The rock and its marble base are crated separately for delivery, and the stone should be lifted on its own before the rock goes onto it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Angular ledges stepping down beside amber slivers bring a crisp edge to our abstract sculptures; the clear casting belongs to our resin sculptures, and on its black marble base it settles among our indoor sculptures.

Specification

Height

43cm

Width

59cm

Depth

13cm

Base

60 × 15 × 6cm

Material

Clear Cast Resin with Amber Slivers on a Black Marble Base

https://giant-sculptures.com/products/clear-amber-sliver-stepped-ledge-rock-resin-sculpture-on-black-marble-base-60cm
