bronze-ringed-top-black-leg-resin-drinks-table-45cm
Bronze Ringed Top Black Leg Resin Drinks Table - 45cm

Description

The top of this drinks table is a slab of bronze-tinted resin with a rounded, uneven outline, and a set of concentric grooves follows that outline round its border, leaving the centre plain and flat. The slab is thick and its edge is rounded, and a bright line of light runs round it. Below, three plain black cylinders stand as legs, set in from the rim at even spacing and reaching the floor without a taper or a foot. The bronze reads clear at the rim and deepens towards the middle of the top.

Rings Cut Into a Bronze Top

Three plain cylinders and one worked slab, and the contrast is the whole piece. The grooves run in even rings round the outer part of the top, each one tracing its uneven outline, and stop well short of the middle, so the top has a worked border and a quiet centre. Its section is thick and its edge rounded, which gathers light along the rim as a bright ring. The legs are the opposite: black, matt, cylindrical, with no taper and no foot, set in from the rim at even spacing. The bronze reads clear at the rounded edge and darkens over the plain centre, where the tops of the three black legs show through.

At 45cm this drinks table sits by a chair, sized for a glass and a book and nothing more. The three legs give it a small footprint so it pushes in close to a seat. The cut rings read from directly above, which is where someone seated looks, and the bronze needs light passing through the top rather than onto it. It is a one-handed lift. Keep it inside.

The Top, the Legs, and What Is Open

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. The ringed top is the slow part. You have three decisions to make. The bronze is offered in other tints, the groove count can be changed, and the legs are available in a brass or a chrome finish. The plan of the top is cut to whatever you need, and its two plan figures and the leg height are each specified. Several ordered together are worked so that the bronze depth in the top agrees. The crate is built around the rim of the top and the three legs, and one person should carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Three black cylinders under a ringed bronze top give this drinks table the clean lines of our geometric sculptures; as a stand for a glass at a chair's side it joins our art furniture, and the play of ringed border against plain centre suits our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Specification

Height

45cm

Width

45cm

Depth

38cm

Material

Tinted Cast Resin with Metal Legs
