The base is hollowed out behind to a thin even wall, which is the decision that makes a mass on this scale possible to move at all. The taper is drawn in the mould and the four corners are worked by hand where the grid has to turn, because that is where a cast grid usually breaks its rhythm.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIts top stands at counter height, so it belongs in a reception area, a showroom, a gallery front desk or a studio, working as a counter block or a lectern rather than as furniture to sit at.
