Colour reads by the depth of material light passes through, so a body at three quarters of the scale comes back visibly paler with an identical mix, and matching the pair by eye means putting MORE pigment in the one that has less material to look through. This is the deeper of the two for that reason. Set side by side the two read as one colour; measured in the pot they are nothing alike.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIts own stone comes with it and settles most of the question: the surface has to take the slab without overhang. Frosted and tinted, it needs no window behind it and holds up in a hall or against an interior wall. Beside its sibling it reads as the same mountain seen further off, and on its own it holds a wall.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eMatching the Pair, the Stone, and Delivery\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eReckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. It carries more pigment than its sibling from the same pattern, because less material to look through shows a tint paler at the same mix. The teal is taken lighter or deeper, the face is polished, and the marble is cut to other sizes. Ordered as a pair, the two are matched by eye at the bench rather than by formula. It ships in two boxes, stone and casting apart, and is assembled on arrival.
