Its two arms lift out of a shared foot and pass each other at the top, framing an open centre, and fine bubbles held in the casting catch the light across the blue. Black marble is supplied beneath it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eOne Blue From Foot to Crossing\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eA single colour through the whole loop turns it into one continuous shape: without a change of tint to mark where one arm ends and the other begins, the eye follows the curve round without stopping. The blue reads deep at the foot and in the outer curves, and pale along the thin edges of the arms, so the form is shaded by its own drawing. The small bubbles belong to the material and are kept, scattered through the blue like frost. Polished over every face.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBest in a pale room, on a writing desk or a bookcase, where a strong colour on a small scale can do its work. Set against white or a light grey wall, the blue holds its own; on a dark ground it turns inky and the opening disappears. It likes a window beside it, where the curves take on a lighter blue towards the light.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eA Deeper Blue, Another Stone, and Delivery\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eExpect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The blue can be mixed deeper, towards navy, or paler, towards sky, and the bubbles can be kept or cleared from the casting. A pale marble block can be cut in place of the black one. The crossing at the top can be drawn tighter or looser before casting, which changes how much of the opening shows. The loop comes packed with its block, and it is an easy lift for one person.
