blue-bucket-seat-cast-resin-counter-stool-87cm
Blue Bucket Seat Cast Resin Counter Stool - 87cm

Description

This cast resin counter stool has a bucket seat: a shallow pan with a low back and two short raised sides, its front edge rolled over. It stands on four legs of square section that splay very slightly, joined near the floor by a footrail that runs round three sides. A single flat plate drops from the underside of the seat to the footrail at the back. Everything is the same bright blue. The legs read as pale lines and the seat reads as strong saturated colour.

A Bucket Seat at Counter Height

The stool is straightforward and its interest is in section. The seat is a shallow bucket with a low back and two raised sides, all one piece, and its front edge is rolled so nothing bears on a corner. The legs are square rather than round, which is unusual at this height and gives the piece a drawn, architectural look; they splay very slightly and are joined near the floor by a footrail that runs round three sides and leaves the front clear. A single flat plate drops from the seat to the rail at the back. Because the blue is translucent, the section is visible everywhere: the legs are pale and thin, the rolled seat edge is strong, and the plate reads as a band of colour where it crosses.

At 87cm high this is a counter stool and it suits an island or a bar at standard height. The footrail is what makes it usable for any length of time, and it runs round three sides with the front left clear so getting on and off is easy. The blue is strong and will set the tone of a kitchen, so plain surroundings suit it. It is light enough to move with one hand. For indoor use.

The Seat, the Footrail, and What Is Open

Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The bucket seat sets the pace here. Three choices are open. The blue is open, the seat height is set to a figure you give us, and the legs are available in a round section instead of square. The footrail can also be taken right round all four sides. The seat height and the overall width are open figures. Ask for several together if the blue depth through the seat needs to agree between them. The crate is built around the footrail and the four leg ends, and two people should carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Square-section legs under a blue bucket seat put this stool among our geometric sculptures; at counter height it is seating from our art furniture, and its bright colour belongs to our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Specification

Height

87cm

Width

56cm

Depth

49cm

Material

Tinted Cast Resin
