A band that crosses itself puts two thicknesses in the way at that point, and a tinted body turns that into the darkest part of the piece without any change of surface. The band is frosted to a soft satin over both faces, so the teal reads as depth rather than as reflection.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt wants a corner of a floor, or a console with the crown above the eye. Something pale at its back, since the crossings are where all the colour gathers. Side light separates the two passes at the crossing; head-on light closes them into a single band.
