Poised on one foot, she leans into the wind, the hat brim tipped forward and the skirt swept back until it meets the ground behind her. The hat is a glossy mid blue, the body below it clears almost to glass, and the blue returns in the skirt, pooling strongly at the hem. The block beneath her is black marble and comes with her.

A Blue Hat Over a Clear Body

Blue at the top and bottom with clear resin between frames this figure like a sky and a sea with the air between. The eye goes straight to the hat, then down the clear body to the blue of the skirt, so the whole silhouette is read in one sweep. The blue is blended into the clear, with no hard line where it stops. With a full polish, the clear passages catch highlights while the blue stays rich and glossy. It is a cool, fresh piece for a warm room.

Stand her on a wide shelf, a desk or a console, with the trailing skirt turned into the room. She suits blue and white rooms, coastal schemes and bathrooms, and looks fresh beside white linen and pale wood. A window to one side makes the clear body sparkle; a pale wall behind keeps the blue crisp.

Navy, Turquoise, or Frosted, and Delivery

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The blue can lean to navy or to turquoise, the clear body can be frosted for a softer look, and the brim can be widened. White marble can stand in for the black block. Teal-and-white and red-and-pink versions of the lady are also made, each available separately. One crate brings her with her block, and a single person can set her in place, taking her by the waist. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue brim over a clear body, as here, is one of the fresher looks in our resin sculptures; the leaning, poised lady is also at home in our contemporary and modern sculptures, and pieces for a coastal scheme are in our indoor sculptures.

Specification

Height

76cm

Width

32cm

Depth

18cm

Base

25 x 20 x 6cm

Material

Blue and Clear Cast Resin on Black Marble
