Seen face on, across the seat and the inside of the back, the resin reads as a warm honey; looked at edge on, through the full depth of the wall, it goes to a deep orange with a hint of red. The sides rise from the seat in one smooth curve to the height of the back, so the chair holds a sitter on three sides. The base repeats the curve the other way up, a single band that rolls down at each end into a leg, frosted to the same soft finish as the shell above.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIts back stops at 64cm, so the chair sits low and works well at a desk, a dressing table or a small dining table. The amber warms a cool or white room and suits walnut, cane and rough linen. Daylight from the side turns the edges orange while the seat stays a pale honey, so it shows well beside a window. The amber can be taken towards a deeper copper or kept close to pale honey, and a glossy, unfrosted surface is possible too. The side wings may be cut back to a plain low tub, and the base can stay a single band as here or become four separate legs that raise the shell. Chairs bought as a set are coloured in a single session so they match. Its width and the height of the seat are both cut to order. It travels in a single crate and is a two-person lift.
